im 15 and want to know if i should get a youth bow

OK, try to ignore the ones telling you to get a 50# bow. If you're just starting out, you might be able to pull back 50# but you'll be using all the wrong muscles to do it. Start light, get a decent bow, something like the Bullseye. Good price, good built, it can go either way as a barebow or a Target Bow.

First off though before getting your own bow, try to find a good range. www.usarchery.org has a listing of ranges, if you're in the US. Some ranges will let you shoot their equipment, so do your growing there. Climb up to your target weight, then get your own bow.

Now, talking about youth bows, as long as you're not talking about toy bows like the lil sioux or lil brave, they won't brake no matter how strong you are. The optima line from Pse is considered a youth bow for instance, but plenty of adults I know use them. If you want to stay in this sport, I suggest start with something around 15-20#, develop your form. Here's how you can tell if you're overbowed, keep track of your scores. If you see your score dropping all of a sudden after you climb up in weight, means you're overbowed.
