does anybody use a longbow to go Hunting?
once the sniper weapon before the gun and enough power to even go though some amour..the english longbow was a amazing weapon so dangerous that french kings ordered that any english longbowmen caught alive had to have his bow fingers cut off...so when the english bowmen heard that they gave the french king the "finger"...yeah thats were flipping the bird comes from. i'm a history nut guys haha

I have a few friends that use them in deer and hog hunting and went to them for the added challenge angle to it. They had both previously used compounds, and when they had a little hunting experience with the Long Bow, they swear it made hunting easier. Your shots have to be a little closer, and you have to practice more often, but the thrill and fun of the simplicity of it is fantastic.. No sights, no releases, no wheels, just stick and string. Also not much weight to tote in the woods. I killed my first bow kill with a long bow while hunting on the ground, but all my hunting is done out of climbing tree stands now, and the long bow is simply a little to long to shoot out of the two piece climbers that I use. The most fun in archery is shooting Traditional bows with friends.
