Hunter Recurve

i have a WoW question (help?)?

im a lv 11 night elf hunter umm ive recently gotten the explore teldrassil achievement and discovered the twilight (somethin)
umm there are some pretty decent leveled beasts here im training with but why am i constantly getting mauled by the bears how can i do more damage to them before dieing?

i have a Hornwood Recurve Bow with nearly 1000 sharp arrow
a have Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot and Concussive Shot which help with my bow.
my melee weapon is my Sharpened Letter Opener with Raptor Strike2

My Base and Ranged stats are as follows

Base:
Atk:21
Agil.:40
Stamina:28
Intelligence:25
Spirit:27
Armor:204

Ranged Stats:
Damage: 20-30
Speed:1.83
Power:52
Hit Rating: 0
Critical Chance:6.86%

if anyone can help me improve with simple intructions im new so dont really know how to do everything

ok, what you need to do is study the patrol pattern of the animals before you rush in.
you cant just run through an area and expect nothing to attack you.

you are a hunter, you are ranged.
send your pet in after the target first.
let them build up a little agro (use the built in game agro meter that can be turned on in the user interface)

dont be blasting a whole bunch of special shots at the target or that will cause the creature to turn its attention from your pet to you.
slow and steady wins the race.

use your pet as a blocker.
if something attacks you put your pet on it, wait a few seconds until your pet has the agro, back up then start shooting.

your pet is there to make life easier and to keep you from dieing as much.
and remember to mend pet.
a dead pet cant keep you alive.
