Which is the best way in archery, split finger or three fingers under release.?

Shooting split finger has no effect on arrow drop, what it does is lower your anchor, so you get more elevation. Your arrow will still drop at the same rate, but you get more distance because the starting angle of your arrow is steeper. The primary reason why Olympic style archers use split finger is, it facilitates a more solid anchor. When you do three fingers under, the arrow sits between the top of your index finger and your face, making contact between your index finger and the jaw bone almost impossible. Split finger places the bone of your index finger right under the jaw bone. This bone on bone contact makes the anchor a lot more solid. While it's good enough to have one point of contact when you shoot 30-40 yards, when you're launching arrows from 100 yards away and thinking to hit a paper plate, you better have rock solid anchor.

When you're shooting barebow however, three fingers under will place the arrow closer to your eye. It also facilitates doing things like stringwalking.
