Do I have Hemophobia?

I have always been queasy at the sight of blood, I don't really bleed that often but this morning I woke up to a nose bleed, I was ok in the dark walking along the hallway but when I reached the bathroom and turned on the light and saw blood all over my face I freaked, my blood pressure dropped instantly, the colour draining from my face, I fainted and because I was alone in the house it took a while to come around, when I woke up I was still bleeding, I retched and ran to the toilet but I didn't vomit.
I managed to slow the bleeding with toilet paper, but by now I was sweating and shaking, my extremities where freezing with pins and needles, my eyes were rolling back in my head and my hearing was going all fuzzy.
Needles have always made me feel weak also?
Can someone please help me?
Can I go to the doctor because bleeding does this to me?

Probably not a doc thing as it is an actual phobia. You can check with a counselor if it is affecting your life but many, many folks have this in varying degrees and do just fine. Many of the finest nurses and docs I have known had it in some form when they were young, It is a mind over matter thing. Once you see you aren't badly bleeding or can help someone who is the fear goes away. It'll take some time but if you want to bring an end to this particular phobia you will have to put yourself in the position to see more and deal with it. Or if not do your best to avoid it as well as you can which is difficult as we as humans bleed quite a lot and often. It is a choice but you have lots of time to make it so take it slow.
