How do you sight an airgun scope?

I am new to airgunning and do not know how to sight my gamo 4x32 scope on a shadow 1000. Can someone help? (I can't understand the instructions)

Set the horizontal and vertical lines to devide the circle into 4 equal quadrants. Put the target at about ten feet so that your shots will be on paper. Set the crosshairs in the center of the target and fire one shot. Look to see where it hits in relation to the target's center. If it is too low, lower the horizontal line to raise the point of impact. When you lower the line, you will raise the barrel when you aim where the two lines cross. If you are too high, raise the horizontal line so that you will aim lower. The vertical line moves your impact left/right. if you shoot to the right, move the line right and you will aim more to the left when aiming where the lines cross. If too far left, move the line left, and the impact will move to the right.
