Mini crib owners: how long was your baby able to sleep in it?

I am looking into getting a mini crib (like this: http://www.target.com/Delta-Childrens-Products-4490-204-Riley/dp/B001GSS5VQ/ref=sc_qi_detaillink) for my baby girl who is due in mid April. I don't know anyone who owns a mini crib, and just only heard about them myself, but they seem like they'd be right for me because they are smaller and can convert to a twin bed when she is older.

My only concern is that I read a review or two that said once the baby had gotten older (1 year +) they were too big for it. So how long were you able to use your mini crib for?

My son uses a mini crib at his grandparents house and so far so good, I like them because I can actually put my son into his crib without having to go on my tippy toes. I am 4'11 and the one that we have at our house is a normal crib and It is a challenge for me to get him in his crib. But with that said, I don't see him lasting much longer in the mini crib, he is going to be 6 months old here shortly and I don't think he will fit in it once he gets closer to the age of 1.
