How do I make a bow and arrow at home?

I want to make a bow and arrow (esspecially a bow) at home without having to buy one but I don't know what to use.

Well, it depends on whether you want a bow to play with or one to use for real archery-stuff...
If it's for fun, I have a really good idea:
Take one of those basic plastic clothes-hangers that form a rounded triangle (circular plastic ones), cut off the flat bottom with the curved corners attached..make notched in the corners that you can tie a rigid string to; there is your little bow.. then get those basic round bamboo skewers for arrows and attach a quill to the end by either tape folded around the base or cutting out a small piece of cardboard in a triangle and push the skewer through one of the cardboard holes in the center of the triangle (and add glue if you don't want it to move.. You can even cut strips of aluminum can out and fold them around the tip of the arrow to add weight and make a sharp, hard point (crimp it tight with pliers).

As far as a real, working bow goes; you'd have to find the right wood and work it well, use a strong fiber string/cord and learn how to make one the old fashioned way. (sorry, I don't know much of the bow maker's craft)
I'm sure if you check those old Foxfire Pioneer Manuals (library will have them), one should have what you need..

Now aside from that, you may be able to use some sort of graphite material to make a rudimentary one, like camping tent poles.. But it probably wouldn't be as powerful as a standard Archery Bow.

Good luck and use your imagination; even if your bow isn't up to par with purchasable ones, it'll be the coolest bow ever; I promise..
