Odd problem trying to ssh into my Ubuntu box. Any help?

I have an Ubuntu server running on my home network connected to the internet via DSL with a Netopia 3000 series router.

The router is configured to IP-Passthrough all internet traffic to the Ubuntu box (effectively creating a DMZ for the server).

Sshd is running. Netstat -nap | grep :22 shows it's listening. But it won't respond when I try to ssh into it.

To make things more odd, I can ssh into the box from itself (using the loopback address or using the public internet address) and I can ssh into it from any device on the local LAN. I just can't do it from any other location.

I can still telnet into the box and load web pages from the Apache server running on it from anywhere on the internet, I just can't get ssh to work over the WAN.

Any thoughts?

Many ISPs block transport services to the well-known ports for non-HTTP requests. You might try telling your Ubuntu box to listen (additionally) for ssh/telnet requests on some obscure port number and try it again.
