An arrow is shot vertically upwards?

can some one please help me with these answers i don't understand, so would you take the effect of gravity into account?

An arrow is shot vertically upwards with a speed of 35 ms-1 (ignore the fact that the air resistance actually has a considerable effect on the arrows motion)

a) what time does it take to reach the maximum altitude?
b) what is its maximum altitude?

a) v(final) = v(initial) + (acceleration x time)
0(when it gets to the maximum height it stops) = 35m/s + (-9.8m/s^2) x time
-35 = (-9.8) x time
3.57 seconds=time

b) distance = (v(initial) x time) + (acceleration x time^2) / 2
distance = (35 x 3.57) + ((-9.8 x 3.57^2) / 2)
= 124.95 + ((-9.8 x 12.7449) / 2)
= 124.95 + (-124.90002 / 2)
distance = 124.95 + (-62.45001)
distance = 62.49999 meters

i'm pretty sure this is right
