Both are great arrows. The Gold Tip Hunter XT is the most popular Arrow Shaft on the market for hunters. I would go with the Gold Tips. In every review you read, 99% of the reviews are all 5 star reviews. It will have a straightness factor of .003 and will weigh 8.2 grains per inch. This is an ideal compromise , not the lightest arrow on the market, and not the heaviest. Too light and penetration will suffer, regardless of those that says it doesn't matter, it does matter.

And if you go too heavy, trajectory will make it harder to hit at a distance.I had a friend That had a target shooter talk him into getting Eastons lightest carbon arrows to use for Hunting. He did kill 3 deer with them last year, but none had complete penetration and we had hours of hard blood trailing on each deer.

The straightness factor of the Carbon Express pile driver is .005. I have shot the Carbon Express arrows before with the Buff Tuff finish on them. They did get great penetration. But when you can blast through a deer with a lighter arrow, and get flatter trajectory , there is no need to go for over kill.

And others can disagree with me on this, but this is what I have found. I have found almost all arrows that have the exact same spine deflection will basically all group together if you do your part.I have my own spine tester. And if you can get 8 out of 12 carbon express bow tuff arrows to measure out the exact same spine weight you are doing good. The ones that are spined differently will not group with the others, and when you put a Broad Head on them, the difference really shows up.
