What are the main pros and cons in using a turbine engine as pose to radial engine in helicopters?
I was looking at a you tube video and had saw a couple of guys create a cool looking ultralight radial engined helicopter, after that video had finished I clicked to see the next video, there behold a turbine version of the same helicopter, now why would someone do that? What are the pros and cons of using a turbine engine rather than a radial one?
All suggestions are most welcome, thanks for your time.
A radial engine is more easily designed than a turbine engine for an amateur. A turbine angine has a higher power to weight ration, fewer moving parts and has much less vibration. It also uses less lubricating oil and the overall size is smaller.
