Can I use candle wax on the string for my Compound Bow?

Can candle wax be used on the string or should I just go out and buy proper wax for it?

You can use any kind of wax you want, as long as you're ok with the scent etc. You can use a pork chop if you want. Wax is simply to lube the string and slow the fraying. There is no such thing as "proper wax"....that's more junk the amateurs get sold on and pass on like it's gospel.
