carbon arrows---broadhead weight?

for a Compound Bow, shooting carbon arrows, Hunting whitetail deer, would 100 gram broadheads be the best choice? or would 125 gram broadheads be the best choice. and WHY?
i just got the bow. its not set up to anything yet. i'm starting fresh here. but the bow did come with 3 125 gram Muzzy Fixed Blade broadheads.

You would do better with the 100 grain arrows for use with carbon shafts.The reason for this is that the much lighter weight of the carbon arrows that they are making now tend to shoot better with the 100 grain heads on them. But if you are using the heavier carbon arrows- 9 grains or above it will not make a difference.

I am basing this on personal experience and not science. I have always used 125 grain arrows even when I first went to carbon. But when I went to the lighter faster carbon arrows, I found the 125 grain heads to be too much weigh on the front end of the arrow causing it to almost seem like it would shoot relatively flat for 30 yards and then the bottom would fall out of it. Where the trajectory of the light arrow with the 100 grain heads would shoot much flatter.

I have killed deer with both setups- a heavy arrow and a 125 grain head, and I have killed them with a lighter arrow and a 100 grain head.

There is an age old argument about the heavier arrow penetrating more. But the added speed of the lighter arrow makes up almost all the loss of kinetic energy and will deliver almost the same energy to the target as the heavier arrow.Plus you get a flatter trajectory with the lighter setup

There are pro's and con's for either choice, so if you are shooting 125 grain and are satisfied with them, keep using them. If you are shooting 100 grain and are satisfied with the results, keep shooting them.
