How can I make a fake bow and arrow? 10 POINTS!?
I need to make a fake Hunters of Artemis bow and arrow. I want to be Artemis, the goddess of the hunt for Halloween. Need to know how to make a fake bow and arrow.
The easiest way that I can think of is for you to go to a Home Depot or Lowe's. In the lumber section they have thin strips of wood. Now some of this might be too thin, but if you go over where they have trim, you can ask for it, they have some that's pretty and fairly strong.
You're also going to want to get dowels for the shafts of your arrows. And some gold spray paint and polyester twine..
Take your length of trim and have them cut it to about 4 feet. When you get it home, turn on the water in the tub, straight hot, and when it gets hot, plug the tub and put your length of wood in it. You may have to put something on it to hold it under the hot water. Let it sit for about 20 to 30 minutes, add more hot water if needed to keep it hot.
Take it out, tie a length of your twine on one end (notching the ends will keep the twine from sliding down), bend the wood until you have the curve that you want. Now wrap the twine around that end and tie off. Let dry for several days.
Cut you dowels to the length you want, take some soda cans and cut out your arrow points. When the bow is dry tighten the twine a little more and tie the second end tight. Spray everything with gold paint, and tah dah, you have a bow and arrow for your costume.
