String on a Compound Bow question?

I recently bought a compound bow. A Martin Saber. I thought it would be a good beginner bow. Anyways. I was wondering if any of you ever had the string break on your compound bows after a number of shots. I notice on my compound bow even though I put wax on the string that there are small hairs. Not from animals or people but from the string it’s self.

Often called fuzz or fraying, how old is the string and how many shots have been put through it? I shoot recurves, and my string will develop some fuzz after around 2000 shots or so. A friend of mine had a bow that needed string replacement after only 100 arrows, it was a high country bow if I'm not mistaken, later on he found out the string was making contact with the Cable Guard.
